Reels
There's a huge amount of different types of fishing reels and it doesn't half get confusing not only for the new anglers but for those who have been fishing for years too. The most common type of fishing reel for carp anglers is a fix spool reel. This comes in various types though for those who prefer the patented bait runner style from Shimano (more common group name for this is free spin) or a front drag reel which allows the drag sensitivity to be controlled via the dial on top of the reel. This is what takes up most of the reel market however carp anglers aren't the only men fishing out there and for other purposes you may need something a little different. Lets take pike fishing for example, whilst a fox sool fishing will be okay the more common version is to get a bait casting reel which is generally much more lightweight as you'll be casting out way more often. Those who like to fly fish may prefer a centrepin reel and those who prefer to fish in the sea may prefer a multiplier or beach caster style.
